Melissa L. Kauffman

I'm a seasoned print and digital content creator and editor with extensive experience in writing, editing, content strategy and team management. I continually expand my skill set to stay ahead in an ever-evolving media landscape. I believe great content should engage, inform and inspire—and that creating it should be fun.

I write across a wide range of topics, from travel and lifestyle to pets, products, people and business profiles. My background also includes reviews, testing and sponsored content development for both print and digital platforms.

As a veteran pet industry journalist, I’ve spent more than 25 years covering pets, their people, and the businesses that serve them. My own pets have tested nearly every product and service imaginable — from dog gear to bird, fish, reptile and small-animal essentials. Outside of work, I volunteer with pet welfare organizations and professionally pet sit. When I’m not writing or editing, my husband, three dogs, two parrots and I love to travel, exploring the U.S. in our RV.
